Sweater Cats

Sweet Poppy Cat Stuffed Animals

These Sweet Poppy Cats make me want to collect a house full of them and become a crazy cat lady. Shop owner Amanda makes them from upcycled wool and cashmere sweaters, which makes each one so special.

Creative Wrapping

Le Petit Pot Gift Wrap Pack

I am obsessed with wrapping paper. I usually stock up from Paper Source and Target, but Le Petit Pot's idea of creating animal boxes is so different and fun...and economical. I can use the inside of a brown paper market bag. This will be perfect for party favors and kids' birthday presents.

Whimsical Thursday

These are some whimsical images I saw posted on Facebook:

I'd love to see snow horses and teacup balconies in person.

A family portrait

Jackson's sweatshirt looked so cute hanging on our coat rack that I thought this would make an adorable and unique family portrait.

Caged

Fort Standard Cage Jewelry

I'm usually against cages, but I'll make an exception for Fort Standard. Loving the cage bangle and their chunky necklaces.

Inspiration for 2013 and beyond

I recently came across an inspiring quote by Edison and thought what a good idea it would be to give Jackson a new quote at the first of every month. Maybe when he's in elementary school, it will be a good tradition...something for us to do together as a family, and something to look forward to.

“I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.”  Thomas A. Edison

San Ysidro Ranch

The entrance to our private cottage
Jackson enjoying his winter vacation

San Ysidro Ranch Vegetable Garden
Cauliflower
Broccoli
We joked that we'd win Parents of the Year. Our private cottage was just one giant room...so guess where Jackson slept all weekend? In the bathroom. That was the only way we could enjoy ourselves after his 7 pm bedtime.
What I loved most about San Ysidro was the beautiful vegetable garden. Now I'm starting to plant my own vegetables, but sometimes I'm still surprised to find them in their natural state because I'm so used to picking them up at the market all cut and cleaned and packaged nicely.
It's the perfect place to unwind and spend a few quiet days away from the city. And my favorite part of vacation, no cooking or cleaning!
